As well as the felt circles I'm also working on another secret project with these gorgeous linen fabrics and co-ordinating polka dot ribbon. Ooooh I'm so excited for this one!! Where's my scissors?

Ribbons

Its a lovely sunny day out today with blue skies so I thought I'd team it up with these bright and cheery ribbons that I bought this week from Sarah @ Paper-and-string. Aren't they fab!

Cant wait to start using them :)

Today its so peaceful in my studio, this morning I did a little more work on my 'special project' for Blooming Felt Sarah and started a couple of other makes I've been meaning to for a while.

I'm hoping that today's sunshine is a sign of the start of Spring, could really do with some extended hours of daylight. Winter always makes me feel lethargic. Bring on the Summer!!

Birthday, bunting, ribbon and posh nosh.

So far being 31 isn't that bad :) thank you for all the birthday wishes and to my family for the gifts and Chris for the most quirkiest gifts as always.

A huge thank you to Rachel for sending me a card and gifts including this beautiful bunting, thanks Rach. I plan on putting it up in my studio tomorrow :D

My quirky gifts from Chris consisted of:
a potato ricer, a gourmet grater, a days cup cake making course and he took me out for a very posh meal at one of my fave restaurants (Darley's) on Saturday. (I've always wanted a potato ricer ever since I saw the lovely Nigella use one on TV).

I also treated myself to a selection of ribbon from here.....no I'm not addicted, I do actually use it and not hoard it away like a squirrel ;)

The photo's in this post were taken with my new all singing all dancing Nikon D5000, I have lots of links and books to read as I have no idea what I'm doing with it at the moment but I hope to be able to progress off the automatic settings and start taking some fabulous product shots.

You would laugh if I told you what I have been making today but I will save that for another post, don't forget you still have until Midnight tonight to enter my giveaway!!

Under the weather

When you're feeling a bit yuk as I am today (pesky sore throat has turned into a full blown cold, thankfully not Flu) and this scrumptious parcel arrives with the post man it certainly perks you up!!!

And already the cellophane is off some of the rolls and its been cut up and sewn to pretty felt thingies, which I will show you soon :)

Speaking of the weather, we are supposed to be seeing some snow later on tonight early tomorrow. So that's me well and truly overdosed with Christmas already!!! Loving it.

This time last year I was frantically getting things ready for a Christmas Craft Fair. It was soooo hectic! This year I decided that it wasn't for me and that I would spend the time getting creative instead, which is exactly what I've been doing.

When you're stressed, what do you do?

I had a quiet 5 minutes to myself so decided to take this.....

and add it to here.

It was quite therapeutic and did keep me calm for all of 5 minutes until I started thinking about stuff and was Miss Stress A lot all over again. I cant really say just yet because I don't want to jinx things but there maybe something on the horizon to help my lack of time (And no sorry ladies I did not find a time machine, ha ha).

Happiness is....

A big pile of ribbon from paper-and-string! Well I did warn you all that I would be replenishing my stocks. I'm really pleased with my selection :D

I have a little sewing planned and then I intend to enjoy the last of the days sunshine before relaxing with glass of wine and dinner. Lovely!

The winds of change are approaching and I'm feeling quite scared, there are lots of things going on at the moment....work and personal. I think its time to hold and tight and let be what will be :o/

Space (not the intergalactic kind)

Lately things have been getting a little bit messy in my studio. Its all creative messiness though...well that's my excuse. I always struggle to be productive in a messy environment even though its me that makes the mess. So at the end of every project or order I finish I have a ruddy good tidy up. To make room in some of my cupboards I tried to maximise the space in my boxes.

I started off with my very "free and flowing" ribbon box and some scraps of cardboard.

And with a few spare pins ended up with this lovely organised box of ribbon! The only thing now is that I look like I hardly have any ribbon supplies at all :( but then that does mean I can make ANOTHER visit to here to replenish my stocks :D Yey!!!
