So this is me when I was 5, if I could go back and give myself one bit of advice it would be "always do more of what makes you happy"!
Fast forward another 32 years and I've finally figured out what really makes me tick - sewing. Now to say it has took me that long to know that would be a bit of a lie, its always been a big part of my life growing up but you know how it is, you grow up, go through phases, life gets in the way, work gets in the way and before you know it we're here right now writing this bio of me :)
I spent a good chunk of the last 7 years (with the exception of last year where I took a sewing sabbatical) creating my own bag making empire, another slight exaggeration but it was my little part of the world where I could lock myself away and emerge myself in a beautiful world of fabrics and being creative. Sometimes I see it as regressing to a childlike state where you can do and be whatever and whoever you like without any real boundaries or rules.
So after spending a year of trying to figure out what I really wanted out of life I kept coming back to one thing.....sewing. My life seems to have more structure, control and happiness when I'm sewing and being creative. Now don't get me wrong, I have a wonderful fiance, a beautiful home, 3 adorable furbabies and a supportive family, but without sewing I just don'f feel like me. So this year I'm going to make my main focus, getting back to being the creative, happy me that I miss so much.
I'll be taking a different path as I re-introduce myself back to dressmaking and I plan on recording my journey through my blog/instagram/twitter/facebook page.
Please feel free to leave comments, I love to meet people and I do try to reply to each and everyone,I love to talk, can you tell?, it also ensures me that I'm not here talking to myself ;)
