What a day!!!!

Well, what an exhausting day!! The only down side of having a day off is that when you go back to work you have a mountain of work to wade through...including 60 emails!! I ended up putting an extra hour in just to get some of it out of the way for tomorrow.

Once I got home I found a little package in my post box.......and when I opened it I found this!!

Its a lovely brooch made from fabric with a coloured spot print with beads in the center. I entered a give away a couple of weeks ago to name a bag that Sidney from Sid's In Stitches had designed. The name I chose for her tote bag was: Cosmetique. If you would like to see the bag I named please click here. Its gorgeous, have a peek!!!

So what a fab end to the day, it really cheered me up so I just had to blog it!! Thanks very much Sid, cant wait to put it on my favourite jacket.

Cup Cake of the Inedible Kind.

Finally I can show you the gifts I put together for my friends birthday which is this week. Some were bought and some were made by myself......

Starting with the gift bag......I used some ribbon and a cupcake embellishment from my friend Sarah at Paper and string (yes I'm a big fan!)

I was trying to go for a girly theme for the gifts so pink and cupcakes were my inspiration.

I bought a gorgeous card from BaxterAndMadison and some handmade soap from Dragon06 who both have shops on Etsy.

This little fellow came from Treaclezoo her name is Gumball and I thought she was round and cute like a cupcake :)

Then onto my little creation, I made this purse out of some pieces of the cupcake fabric I had left and some pink cotton I had. I used more Ribbon from Paper and string and some diamantes for embellishments. The inside lining is also bright pink, very cute and very girly......Perfect :)

Little close up of the detailing.

As I had bought a few of the cupcake embellishments I decided to make a key chain out of them to match the purse. I cant take the credit for the impeccably made cupcakes as they are down to Sarah's handy work.....but if you're reading this Sarah I think I may have just added to your gorgeous collection ;)

I am off to bed now for a well deserved sleep, I've been on the computer all day today trying to get some of my website done (soon to be unveiled) only broke off for a couple of hours to get dinner and go to the cinema (to see Wall-e, fantastic go see it!!). So I think my eyes may well and truly be square!!!

Who is Bagladee???

Hello fellow bloggers, having a good week so far.......still finishing off the makeup pouches and purses, and even more exciting I've just sold a brooch to a lady in Utah called Wendy. Its my first Etsy sale so its even more special. To thank her I decided to send her one of my coin purses and some mini note books as a gift. I hope she likes them!!

I am also currently working of my website so hang in there I'll let you know when its ready to be revealed!!

As an added confidence boost to go with my Etsy sale I was also featured on another blog. Nil was kind enough to contact me and ask if I would like to be featured. Of course I accepted (who wouldn't? Its all fantastic publicity). She asked me questions about me, my inspiration and also my creative process. At first I wasn't really sure what to write. But then once I started writing I got into the flow and I nearly forgot that I was just doing an interview not a life story ;) ha ha!!! You see when you're passionate about something there's no stopping you (or shutting me up in my case)!!

If you would like to read the interview on Nil's blog then click here. Get to know me a little better :) and many thanks to Nil and her fantastic blog!!

Hmmmmmmm........

Now that my two gift bags are safely in the post winging their way to Victoria and Marin I am sat with a glass of red wine relaxing (real terms: blogging!).

I have been busy sewing away this week putting in all the zips and lining into my cup cake and Chinese doll fabric purses/makeup pouches. Nearly there only a few more to do and then I will post my photos.

I have also finished part of my 'cup cake of the inedible kind' birthday gift for my friend. I was going to take an abstract photo and show you all but whilst taking some photos this afternoon the batteries died on me and even though I have looked all over the house I can not seem to find the rechargeable batteries I have for it (probably why there were normal ones in it, if I remember rightly I couldn't find them last time either!!) I'm sure the last time I had them was when we went to New York in January? Oh well, I will pick some up tomorrow and get clicking!!

As its my friends birthday next week I will be able to show you exactly what I made......I don't want to ruin the surprise.

This morning I went to visit some friends that I haven't seen for quite some time, so we spent a few hours catching up. I then came home and finished the brooches that I have been making (Dragonflies & Lillies- posted below) and attempted to take some photos. While I was sewing the beads on the flowers my kitty cat Nell was fast asleep on my lap......I think she was getting in some much missed TLC, I've been so busy lately she's been having to sit on her kitty hammock. So she got some well deserved pampering this afternoon which consisted of lots of behind the ear and under the chin scratching!! :)

Well off to fill my glass up %) hope you all have a fab weekend. And since there is a lack of photos today and the fact I mentioned New York I thought I'd post two of my favourite photos I took earlier on in the year. (Hoping to go and spend Christmas there again this year!!)

Dragonflies, lilly pads and cupcakes Part 2

Hey fellow bloggers and readers, hope you are all well.
This weekend was none other than another busy one. Spent part of it doing the usual household chores: cleaned the oven, the fridge and freezer, washing, food shopping and gave all the rooms a good cleaning.......OK boring bit over!!!!

Then it was back to the crafting and I managed to get quite a lot of pieces cut out to make some new brooches. They aren't sewn together as yet but once they are I will post some more photos.

Dragonflies

Lillies

And last of all I started my friends 'cupcake of the inedible kind' birthday present, really sorry but this is as about as much as you will see until the gift has been given. I wanted to give you all a sneaky peek but I don't want to spoil the surprise for my friend.

Dragonflies, lilly pads and cupcakes!

Just a short post to update you all. I have been very busy this week......buying!!! Ha Ha. My favourite hobby (well apart from sewing of course).

I have a couple of projects up my sleeve at the moment. I have been spending sometime this week working on some drawings for new felt brooches. I decided to search for some images on the net and came up with Dragonflies, Lilly's and Lilly pads. I'm still only in the drawing stages but as soon as I get something sewn I will post some photo's.

I am also working on a birthday gift for a close friend.....I know she reads this blog so all I can say is it involves cupcakes of the none edible variety!! Thanks to my bloggy friend Sarah for supplying me with some sewing essentials for my birthday project. :)

***Also don't forget to check in next week as I will be having my first ever giveaway and my gift bags are full of fantastic goodies (almost too good to give away!!!)***
