Wedding and Felt lovely'ness

So....my very good friend who is getting married later this year in Cypress is having her wedding dress made. And who is designing said dress?? Oooohh that would be me then :) After some intial sketches and a meeting to find the bits she did and didn't like, this is what we came up with.
She's having a full length strapless gown with lace trim on the top of the bodice, pleated skirt at the back with silk buttons all the way down. And as a gorgeous extra a little lace jacket to go over the top. You cant really see from the picture but the lace jacket fastens with an antique clasp. Its going to be beautiful....made from Duchess Satin and beaded lace.

I've also been busy finishing some more brooches.....the only thing thats missing are the bagladee tags. But thats because I have none left :(

So I'd better get some more made.......twill tape and my logo printed on t-shirt transfer paper.

We're off to Ikea to get some more bits for the sewing room conv and then tomorrow I will make some tags.

  2. thats a huge under taking with making the wedding dress! Go you! Way back when in Home Ec my teacher was making her wedding dress and when we would be working on stuff she'd be in the corner hand sewing on thousands of beads. It was crazy! Needless to say, I just BOUGHT my wedding dress at a store! haha.

  4. and are we all invited?

I designed my dress and had it made by a lovely little ole lady in Tokyo, I wanted the neckline beading but she said she couldn't do it, so I said I would do it myself - me who had never beaded anything before in my life LOL. All turned out fine and I got to wear it 3 times :o)

Do you have a wedding theme yet?

  9. Lovely drawings! the wedding dress looks very elegant, and the jacket will be ideal for the evening. I went to Ikea for my sewing room. Very strong shelving units and I got some of the collaspable boxes to put my fabric in too. have fun.
