Wild thing

As you all know I love bright, patterned fabrics......so I couldn't resist buying a FQ of each of these!! Grrrrrrrr! What do you think? I know they're not every ones cup of tea but not everyone likes the same thing, it would be boring if we did :) There's more coming next week.....Zebra and more leopard print (of which I already have an order for).

*sings* "Wild thing, you make my heart sing! You make everything gggrrrooooovvvyyyyy".

New frames

After a mammoth 6 month search I have finally got my mitts on a box of these frames. They are the same as the others I use for the mini clutches but if you look closely they have little loops on the top for attaching a chain strap!! Cant wait to make some shoulder clutch bags.

When you dont have one to match...

This weekend I went to my OH's cousins Wedding reception (they got married in Mauritius a couple of weeks ago). I'd bought a dress and luckily had some shoes that matched but didn't have a bag to match.

Thankfully I seem to have the nack for making bags ;) so I decided the day before I would make this little cutie. As my dress had a flowered pattern I decided blocks of colour would be better.

Now she may look small and dainty but in my clutch bag I had x2 Blackberry phones, tin of vasaline, house keys, car keys, bank cards and money. Its all in the pattern cutting ladies. Small but deceiving :)

Already had requests for this style to be added to my website, so watch out for some new bags coming soon!!

A little different

Custom orders are always my favourite to work on, its always something different and sometimes something that I wouldn't have picked myself turns out to be really lovely.

I was commissioned by a very nice lady called Michelle who loved this fabric and wanted to know if I could purchase it and make her one of my large clutch bags. Once the fabric had arrived and I knew what placement of pattern I could get out of the half meter Michelle chose which she would like for the back and the front. Bird front, full flower and butterfly on the back.

I think its turned out beautifully and it has steered me in a new direction when choosing fabrics. I'm always open to custom orders and whatever your fancy of fabric I will turn it into something gorgeous to wear about town.

Best get a Custom Order page set up on my website :)

We've arrived

At long last we're settled in at the hotel after quite a long day. The stand is all set up with just the bags to add in the morning. I've already managed to catch up with a few familiar faces and plan on having a good old mooch around first thing in the morning.

In addition to lots of new clutches I will be showcasing these gorgeous bags for my new Bridal range, available will be a large clutch, a mini clutch (not pictured) and this gorgeous little purse, perfect for little bridesmaids.

Now its time for a good meal (from the pub next door) a couple of well earned drinks then an early'ish night ready for the first day of the show tomorrow. If you're coming along to BCTF please come by stand 249 and say Hello. I will try and post some pictures of my stand tomorrow.

Sheila Fleet Gallery

I've been so busy lately that I didn't get a chance to show you all these gorgeous clutch bags. They are now on sale at the Sheila Fleet Gallery in Orkney. So if you are passing by please do pop in and have a look, Sheila also designs the most beautiful jewellery.

30 Bridge Street
Kirkwall
Orkney
KW15 1HP
Scotland
There are 5 different clutch bags in the shop but these are 3 new ones. You can also get the Juicy clutch and the Amarillo clutch, unless they have sold out of course :D

These 3 new bags are now available to buy from my website here, now you know the drill there are a limited number of these (I only have 1 of each) so be quick before they're sold out.

Did you know that each clutch bag has a bow on the front in the same fabric, it frames the rhinestone flower nicely and gives a different dimension to the detail on the front of the bag.
Oh how I love to make clutch bags :D

Are you ready to drool?

For the past couple of weeks I have been working on another trade order. This one was destined for Unbox Shop in Lancaster. It arrived yesterday so here I am to show you these lovelies.

There were 5 clutches and 5 purses in the order. This order was different to others. Normally (and I have learnt this through experience only) I buy in fabrics that are either in season/fashion or what I think a wide range of customers will like. This time I sourced Autumn/Winter fabrics that I thought would fit in with Unbox and their exhibition. I love their shop and their style and these fabrics I picked are very 'me'.

I love the lemon clutch 'Juicy Lucy' and could def see myself accessorising an outfit with it. It has made me remember the reason why I started out making bags. Bright and funky fabrics are a vice of mine and these were an absolute pleasure to make.

I already have my eye on some more funky fabrics and plan on adding lots more clutches to my website very soon.

The ones pictured above will be available on my website but there will only be one of each.

Fancy a bargain??

Anyone??
All 3 of these bags are on sale at www.bagladee.com for £12.50. They were £25!! There are only 1 of each and they are the end of line stock that I have left before the new range of clutch bags are revealed at the end of March. But be quick there are only 1 of each!!
This one is my fav, I adore the fabric and the magenta lining goes perfect with the green and teal.
Very pretty for the summer......
Love this print too, and it has a contrasting silver lining to compliment the pink.
Lots of other bargains coming soon :D

Whats next???

Double shift today at the day job...yuuukk!! Now armed with a cup of tea and a packet of hula hoops I thought I'd drop by with a proper update.

I don't think that I will ever catalogue everything that happens at bagladee HQ the way its supposed to be, my blog is very similar to my personality, very sporadic, some times full of energy and a little bit all over the place ;) However I do try to get it all down on here as I see it as a place to make sense of all the craziness.

For those of you who have been reading my blog for a while will know that last year I attended the BCTF (British Craft Trade Fair) for the first time. Since then bagladee (and I) have blossomed so much in that year. It really got me thinking of where I wanted to go with my little business, before this I was quite happy plodding along. Now I've found that I have this inner drive that I never thought I had to push myself that little bit further. It has been playing over in my mind for the last 4 months or so, 'what next' and 'how do I take it to the next level'. I have had so many conversations with C and written down so many ideas and lists and made so many drawings and measurements......
......and this new clutch bag is part of the what next. This is just the start, I have a lot more up my sleeve!!

C is busy drawing up the specs for my stand for this years trade fair and I am soooooo excited. Now I know what to expect and what is expected of me and where we (bagladee and I) are going in the future. Cant wait!! :D

Out of the funk

This was me yesterday, grader square and protractor in one hand, fabric scissors and a very pretty chrome bag frame in the other.....

....yes I'm well and truly out of my funk! I've been beavering away at a new pattern for a clutch bag, one that I have been meaning to get round to for quite some time. After making 2 mock ups I now have some very pretty and summery fabric cut out waiting to be sewn together. So that's my queue to make a coffee and get up into the studio. Photo's soon I hope :D

Faffing

A quick post before I nip out to the supermarket. This past week there has been a lot of what I call 'faffing'. Milling around doing lots of different jobs but not really getting anything substantial done.

These clutch bags are almost completed, but still on the To Do list. I have ironed far too much this week for my liking, not conquered the pile which is still glaring at me from across the room. Started some new slouch bags for the website but not even half way there. Even started some more cosmetic pouches and felt purses, these too are half finished.

Replenished a lot of supplies (that I didn't really have the cash for) so now I need to get those little fingers of mine sewing away to reap the labour of my fruits (I think that's what they say?).

I have been messing around with both my blog and website this week too. Some new pictures to add to my website and new stock of course (you cant see these yet, still working on that) with some new text. Well I do like to keep it fresh. And from reading some other fantastic blogs earlier in the week, I decided to add some tabs to the top of my blog page. So far the only one I've managed to sort of complete (faffing again) is the 'About me' (can you see it). I've had a little ramble on there and still cant find a photo, although I've had a few thoughts about that :D
TTFN off to food shop!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE!!! You must go check out the about me page now, I've just added the cutest photo of myself (bet you think I'm blowing my own trumpet! its a must see I promise).

Aladdins Cave

Is what Chris said when he popped up to see if I wanted a cuppa and saw Anne's order complete and sat pretty on my work desk. I love, love, love fabric and seeing all these lovelies together makes my heart smile :D I think all accessories should make a statement and what a better way than with some lovely items like these.....

Excited

A quick post before I jet off on my holiday, I know I wont get a chance to post tomorrow just because of the amount of things I need to get sorted between now and then. I am so excited to be going to Madrid, part of it is because its a beautiful city and its one of the European cities I have not yet visited....but also because the whole reason we booked the trip was so that we could go and see the Spanish leg of the Red bull Xfighters tour.

This lovely clutch bag is Monoflora and she is available to buy here.

5 days of being romantic with Chris, now there is something not often done! ;) We're just so busy all the time, we get wrapped up in what were doing rather than each other. So it will be nice to be 'lovey dovey' for a change. We have cat sitters organised, passports and currency sorted so I guess I'd better get cracking with the packing!!!! I have some scheduled posts organised!! Yes get me Miss all organised :D and I will be back soon, in person to show some photos of my trip.
See you all soon. xxx
